Carnival

It’s the traditional Hungarian Carnival that begins in January and lasts until mid-February, when Ash Wednesday. February: 
The Budapest Circus Festival

This festival is held after every two years and brings together the artists of circus and acrobats which are the most famous in the world. March:
International Day of Hungary,

Spring Festival

Two festivals in the spring of  Hungary  stand out among the other. One of them is Debrecen which welcomes every year 50 pop and classical music concerts, theater and art cycles. The other festival is Budapest which holds about 200 shows in the streets, operas or churches for two weeks.

Carnival of the Danube-

Margaret Island in Budapest, the Danube is its finery to welcome its traditional Carnival that takes place every year in June. For eight days, streets and scenes receive folk dance groups, international artists and renowned classical music concerts.

August:
Summer Festival

The hottest months of the year in Budapest are accompanied by a festival including all kinds of activities and performances in the open air, theatre, performance, musicals, traditional and modern dance performances, games and workshops for children.

Sziget Festival

The old Buda Island in the Danube hosts the festival of youth culture in all the months of August which is the most important in Budapest. Thousands of people gather each year around the main stage and the island fills with color, good atmosphere in day and night.

Festival of Folk Arts

September:
Festival of short films of Budapest

Better known by the name of BuSho, this festival presents nearly 100 works by more than 30 different countries selected from a total of nearly 2,000 participants. The screening will take place mostly in the Vorosmarty cinema. All films are subtitled in English.

Wine Festival

Culture and wine rub shoulders in this traditional celebration is held on the banks of the Danube and in the great castle of Buda where the visitors can attend a tasting of local wines and artistic performances in various kind.

October:
Fall Festival

It’s one of the appointment with the art and among the most important festivals in Europe which run for ten days. The city welcomes all kind of exhibitions and contemporary art performances that include various disciplines. With more than 20 years of history under its belt, it is one of the cultural events of Hungary which also receives the name of  Café Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival.

Republic Day  –

This Festival pays homage to the 1956 revolution when Hungarians rebelled against the Soviet system and Republic because on the same day in 1989, the Hungary was declared as independent Republic. It is a national day.
