Budapest is considered to be one of the museum’s world capital. There really are so many museums and galleries, to be exact 223 in numbers. This section includes the most interesting of them, to encourage visitor to visit the city.

1. Aquincum Museum:
One of the largest archaeological park in Hungary. Aquincum situated in Budapest was an ancient city of the Pannonia province of Roman empire. To this day the ruins of some of the public buildings of the ancient city (the ancient amphitheatre, several temples, bathing) and the remains of streets and houses more than a dozen civilians.

2. Budapest History Museum:
Exposition is devoted to the history and development of Buda, Obuda and Pest V to XVII century. Particularly interesting exhibits of the Middle Ages there is present the original objects of daily use, glassware, weapons, seals, a collection of tombstones Royal Palace. On the ground floor of the museum has a permanent exhibition “Budapest today.”

3. Hungarian National Museum:
Huge collection of the museum introduces visitors to the history of his Hungarian state. Some of the exhibits includes furniture, utensils, weapons, books, household items and a very interesting collection of propaganda posters from World War. The permanent exhibitions of the museum: “The history of Hungary from the foundation of the state until 1990”, “History of the Hungarian crown”, a collection of antique items.

4. Ethnographic Museum:
One of the biggest ethnographic museums in Europe. The main exhibition is “Hungarian Folk Art” a life dedicated to the Hungarian peasants from ancient times to the Second World War.

5. Sculpture Park Szoborpark:
Park monuments of the socialist period, removed from the streets of Budapest after the change of political regime in 1989-90s. Curious place, causing opposite emotions in different people and generations.

6. House of Terror:
Museum House of Terror, located in the former headquarters of the Secret Police, dedicated to the history of the two dictatorships – fascist and communist.

7. Synagogue and the Jewish Museum:
The largest synagogue in Europe, built in the middle of the XIX century. In the courtyard of the synagogue is the Jewish Museum with a unique collection of Judaica.

8. Museum of Applied Arts:
The museum is located in one of the most beautiful buildings in Budapest. Permanent exhibitions of the museum has a collection of furniture, jewelry collection, a collection of ceramics and glass, a collection of textiles and garments. Most recently, in the framework of the permanent exhibition at the Museum opened a new exhibition, which presents unique items once belonging to the most influential noble family of Hungary – Esterhazy family. In addition, the museum is constantly tested very interesting periodic exhibitions.

9. Hungarian National Gallery:
Collection of National Gallery located in the Buda Palace buildings, stores almost 100,000 works of art from the ground state to the present day. Permanent exhibitions has The Art of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, Gothic wooden statue, late Gothic altars, Baroque art, paintings, sculpture and numismatics XIX-XX centuries, modern art.
