Chain Bridge (Szechenyi Chain Bridge):

The Chain Bridge is one of the greatest symbol of Budapest. It was built between 1830 and 1949 by Count Istvan Szechenyi and was the first permanent passage between Buda and Pest. 380 meters long bridge is guarded by two lions on each end that is based on two large towers emerging from large strings that name the bridge. Wonderful night lighting of the monument makes it one of the most photographed monuments of the city.

Elisabeth Bridge :

Elisabeth Bridge was the largest suspension bridge in the world which was built in 1903 and destroyed during World War II. After its reconstruction in 1963, it lost much of its charm and was newly constructed but even with its characteristic white colour and the materials used, it would be totally different from the original bridge building.

In the construction of the Puente de Isabel, it was necessary to be very careful in the Pest side where lies the parish church center and should not to be damaged during construction. In fact, survival was threatened. The temple builders and the communist authorities at that time had proposed demolition of the temple. However, an agreement today and walkway bridge passes a few meters from the walls of the church was reached.

Cruise on the Danube:

In summers, several companies offer cruises on the Danube from Pest piers that are between the Chain Bridge and the Elizabeth Bridge from where one can go for an evening cruise around the town with dinner and drinks. From there, it is also possible to take the Hydrofoil which vessels between May and September.

From these piers, it is also possible to be mounted on boats that regularly bind Budapest with the resorts that are above Danube as Szentendre, Visegrad and Esztergom.
